CMR Surgical and Microsoft encode health data in glass
CMR Surgical is working with Microsoft to trial the use of quartz glass to store valuable healthcare data. The initiative is part of Microsoft's Project Silica. Data written into glass will not decay, and can be preserved for over 10,000 years. Microsoft says the data could be used to improve patient outcomes. Clinical data for the trial was supplied from CMR Surgical's Versius surgical robot.
