FCC's $3.2bn broadband plan will provide internet to low-income families
The U.S.' Federal Communications Commission is finalising a $3.2 billion Emebergency Broadband Benefit Program to provide low-income families with access to the internet. The programme will include discounts on monthly internet service and on laptop and tablet purchases. “Without an internet connection too many households are locked out of modern life,” said FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel.
