Research identifies bias in healthcare AI models
Separate pieces of research from the University of South California and Queen Mary University have found bias in healthcare artificial intelligence models. One model, designed to recommend treatments, saw suggestions vary across different ethnic groups. In the Queen Mary University study, also looking predictive healthcare models, researchers found imbalance among different age groups.
