UPS turns to electric aircraft in remote areas
United Parcel Service (UPS) will buy 10 small electric vehicle aircrafts in order to improve efficiency in smaller markets. The aircraft, which will be bought from startup Beta Technologies, take off like a helicopter and fly like a plane. The planes are due to arrive in 2024, and the contract allows UPS the option of purchasing 150. The piloted planes can fly 250 miles at speeds of up to 170mph.
